Alvin M. Frentress, 69, of Earlville, died, Saturday, February 18, 2012 in his home following a long illness. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements by Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville.
Alvin was born April 27, 1942 in Manchester the son of Roy and Katherine (Malone) Frentress. He married Darla Mesch on May 11, 1963 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, IA.
He was employed by Swiss Valley Farms for 30 years retiring in 2005. Alvin enjoyed cars, demolition derbys, going to the drag strip, his family, drives with Darla and helping people out.
Survivors include his wife Darla; three children, Wayne (Kimberly) of Elkader, Kelly (Jannell Boeckenstedt) of Manchester and Paul of Earlville Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward and Ron Frentress, sister, Kay Chettinger and an infant sister, Minnie Mae.
