Alma Ella Rompot (Nove)

Alma E. Rompot, 88, of the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa, died there Friday, March 28, 2008, following complications of a stroke. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Michael Kleeberger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial will precede the service.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; son, Roger (Susan) Rompot of Marion; grandchildren, Michael (Kelly) Abbott of Yarrow Point, Washington, Ryan (Tracy) Abbott of San Jose, California, Nathan (Marie) Rompot of Marion and Zachary Rompot of Marion; and great grandchildren, Lilly Rompot, Klayton Rompot and Olivia Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Sheryl Abbott.
Alma was born December 16, 1919, in North Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Libbie (Vanorny) Nove. On August 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer C. Rompot at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Tabitha Society, Campfire Girls, the Fireman’s Auxiliary and Hughes Neighborhood Club. Alma also loved crafts and spending time with her family.
