Alma H. Emmons, 93, a resident of Springville most of her adult life, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008, at home following a short illness. Services: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. John Keizer. The family will greet friends from 9:30 ?" 11:30 a.m. on the day of the service at the funeral home. Burial: Springville Cemetery, Springville, Iowa.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn (Jack) Dammann of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jill (Bernie) McGrew of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Dr. Amy Jacobs of Buffalo, N.Y.; Matt McGrew of Chicago, Illinois, Ann Moore of Aurora, Colorado and Deborah Mirkovich of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven great-grandchildren, Kyla & Kaleb Moore, J.J. and Cristofer Mirkovich, Alex & Max Siegling and Ben Jacobs and a very dear and special friend, Joanne Yeater of Marion, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters and two brothers.

Alma was born September 3, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Dora Goebel, in Daysland, Alberta, Canada. She married Joseph B. Emmons on November 29, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri. He died in 1971. Alma was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church.
