Allen Charles Jons, 63, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
Survivors include his children, Scott (Lisa Hobbie) Jons, and Rodney Jons and friend, Casey; a grandson, Ryan Kimball; sister, Bonnie (Gail) Matthews; brother, George (Cheryl) Jons; sister-in-law, Joy Jons, wife of Vernie; and Sylvia (Welsh) Johnson, mother of Allen’s children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pam Kimball; and 2 brothers, Vernie and Richard.
Allen was born March 13, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Vernon and Marian Jons. He farmed in the Coggon area and also worked construction. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
