Allegra M. "Lee? Conney, 80, of St. Therese of Hopkins, Minnesota, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died, Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at Hopkins Care Center, Hopkins, following a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Monsignor Karl Glovik and Rev. James Blocklinger. The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with a Vigil service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Graveside Service: Noon, Friday, November 12, 2004, St. Michael?s Cemetery, Holbrook, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard; her sons, John (Brenda) Cooney of Hopkins, Minnesota, and Phil (Julie) Cooney of Duncombe, Iowa; six grandchildren, John Jr, Julie, Jacklyn, Derek, Rhaea and Carter; three brothers, Roger, Gordon and Larry; four sisters, Peggy Derby, Joan Grimm, Margaret Teeter and Doris Owing; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dean and Joann Cooney of Rubio; and many nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Russell, Rodney and Forrest.
Lee was born November 8, 1924, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Clark) Clubb, in Keswick, Iowa. On January 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bernard "Barney? Conney in Richland, Iowa. A loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and nurse, Lee touched the hearts and souls of family friends and acquaintances throughout her life.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Duncombe Volunteer Fire Department, Duncombe, Iowa, or St. John?s Catholic School, Hopkins, Minnesota, in memory of Lee.
