Allan Leon Butler, 19, of Cedar Rapids, died in a drowning accident, Tuesday, June 17, 2003. It was reported that no foul play or alcohol was involved. Services are pending at the Gooden Hatton Funeral Home, Wharton Texas. Friends may call for visitation from 4 - 8 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Wharton, Texas.
Survivors include father, Alvin Butler and wife Bonnie of Marion; his mother, Linda Washington of Wharton, Texas; a brother, Alvin Butler Jr. of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Charlotte Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Rosilind and Rhonda Watkins of Wharton, Texas, Monique Niblett of Duncanville, Texas; a grandmother, Annie Mae Frier of Wharton, Texas; and a host of cousins and friends.
Alan was born December 1, 1983, the son of Alvin Lee and Linda (Frier) Bulter in Tyler, Texas. He worked for Geico Direct.
