Allan "Al" Lee Reddick
August 30, 1945 — September 13, 2022
Allan “Al” Lee Reddick, 77, of Walker, Iowa, formerly of Coggon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends and family from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the funeral home, with Reverend Sean Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Coggon Cemetery in Coggon, Iowa.
Al was born on August 30, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one of nine children to Kenneth Wayne and Pauline Helen (Crouch) Reddick. He graduated from Coggon High School class of 1964 and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. On July 12, 1968, Al was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Kay Stumph in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Rockwell Collins for 39 years in Building Maintenance, retiring in 2003. Following retirement, Al was employed at Home Depot for 11 years. He was known as “The Voice of Home Depot” as he was the announcer over the P.A, announcing sales, etc. Al was a member of the Coggon American Legion Post #362. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and collecting beer steins and antiques. Al loved working and being around people and did not want to retire. He never met a stranger and talked to everyone. Al especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved everyone dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Al is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Sandy Reddick of Walker; two daughters, Dawnelle (John) Wyman of Cedar Rapids and Kaylene (Matt) Rock of Center Point, Iowa; five grandchildren, Luke Wyman, Whitney Wyman, Andrea Rock (fiancé, Aaron Noska), Hayley Rock (Adam Krog), and Taylor Rock (Houston Bailey); two great-grandchildren, Ryder Noska and Ensley Noska; one sister, Nancy (Pat) Kratzer of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Evelyn Catherine Stumph; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers at infancy, George, Randy, and Douglas; and four additional brothers, Wayne, Kenneth, Donald, and James.
