Alison Renae Moore, 41, died after a short illness on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Reverend Roger Grandia will officiate. Family and friends may gather from 2 – 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Legacy Center prior to the Memorial Service. Alison wished to be cremated and a private burial will take place at a later date. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Alison was born in Cedar Rapids on September 22, 1979, to Robert and Jeanne (Sherer) Moore. She attended Cedar Rapids Schools, graduating from Metro High School. She then attended Kirkwood and Mt. Mercy University. She married Danny Hartman on April 10, 2004; they later divorced. Alison enjoyed music, camping, fishing, and maintaining her truck. She loved all animals and cared for many during her lifetime.
Alison is survived by her father, Robert and his wife Kathleen; step-sisters, Meagan (Tim) Daniel and their children, Ellie and Addy of Prosper, Texas, and Sara Estle and her husband, Chris Wahlheim of Greensboro, North Carolina; uncles, Patrick (Nancy) Moore of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and Vern Mayes of Florida; aunts, Martie (Gary) Williams of Lewisville, Texas, Linda Moore of Fallbrook, California, and Claudia Sherer of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Moore; grandparents; uncles, David Moore, Richard Moore, and Bobby Sherer; and aunt, Judi Mayes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or to the family who will then direct them to other animal rescue facilities.
