Alice Wynema Stick (née Davidson), 94, of Sun City West, Arizona, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Grandview Terrace, Sun City West from complications of the flu. Services: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, ,March 11, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Campbell Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors: a daughter, Shirley (Meredith) Suhr of Surprise, Arizona; a son, James (Maura Nelson) Stick, Jr. of Clive, Iowa; six grandchildren, Lisa Cabrera, Shelley Sciortino, Nora St. Peter, Emily Pierce, Alex Nelson and Kimberly Nelson; six great-grandchildren, Alynsia, Solon, Alex, Alaina, Sylvia, and Georgia; and two great-great grandchildren, Quincy and Paloma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Walter Stick; a sister, Jean Marie Kotaska; and a brother, Harold Davidson.
Alice was born June 26, 1923, the daughter of Gene and Nellie Davidson, in Bertram, Iowa. A graduate from the McKinley High School, Cedar Rapids, she worked tirelessly with her husband, James, on their farm, in two grocery stores, and retired from the Turner Microphone Company in Cedar Rapids in 1986. On March 12, 1940, Alice was united in marriage to James W. Stick in Iowa City, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Alice.
