Alice Rebec, passed away on December 27, 2024, among family and friends, at St. Luke’s Helen G. Nassif Transitional Care Center in Cedar Rapids at the age of 92.

Alice Virginia Kaiser, the daughter of George and Anna Stille Kaiser, was born on February 1, 1932, near Milford, Iowa. She graduated from Okoboji Consolidated School in 1949. On May 24, 1953, she married Maurice Biancalana. After his discharge from the Air Force, he worked for Safeway Food Stores, and he and Alice settled in Grinnell. Alice worked for Poweshiek County Bank and JD’s Restaurant. She retired from Poweshiek Bank after 30 years of service.
Alice remarried in 1980 to Thomas Rebec after Maurie’s death in 1977. They traveled the globe, landed in Marco Island, Florida, in 1985, and eventually moved to Sebring, Florida. She was a dedicated volunteer and local officer for the ELKS, American Legion, Sebring Historical Society, and the Sebring Country Club. She carded 3 hole-in-ones and played “good golf” until she was 85. She was an avid gardener, and her flowers and Christmas lights slowed traffic at Christmas time. Her holiday parties were legendary. She was dedicated to staying active and biked 10 miles per day, rain or shine. She picked up trash on the roads and was honored by the Highlands County Commissioners for her commitment to keeping the roads safe and clean. She loved spending time with her family and her sisters during her summers in Spencer, IA. All of those who knew and loved her will remember her as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her children, Valarie Biancalana (Stuart Mackey), Tony (Brenda) Biancalana, David (Kim) Rebec, Rob (Kathy) Rebec. Her grandchildren, Cale (Jamie) Henderson, Lee (Kate Heineman) Henderson, Haleigh (Jason Evans) Biancalana, Nick (Madison) Biancalana, Christian Rebec, Ethan Rebec, Logan Rebec, Lucas Rebec and Keaton (Suzanna) Rebec. Her great-grandchildren, Tatum Henderson, Maurice Henderson, Margaret Henderson, Vincent Henderson, Jackson Evans, Pearson Biancalana, Alexanne Biancalana, and Jace Rebec.

A family gathering and interment will be planned when the weather warms.
