Alice Mae (Bader) Clark, 92, of 439 Lindale Drive in Marion, died Saturday, December 27, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a long illness. The family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Per Alice’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. Private family inurnment will be at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion at a later date.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Renee) Clark of Lakewood, California, Gary (Diane) Clark of Cedar Rapids, and Nancy Findlay of Marion; ten grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Foster, Sean (Mary) Clark, Greg (Kim) Clark, Matt Clark, Lynetta (John) Kuennen, Shawn Kelley, Susan (Jason) Thomas, Shelly (Scott) Davidson, Carrie Kelley, and Dianna (Tony) Slick; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Harold (Jan) Burgess of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Marie, Evelyn, Claire, and Della; and three brothers, Edward, Bill, and Louie.

Alice was born January 4, 1916, the daughter of John and Anna (Skoda) Bader in Protivin. On August 5, 1938, she married Maynard G. Clark at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion (he died on June 18, 1986). Alice was a homemaker and also cared for residents at an area nursing home. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

A memorial fund has been established in Alice’s memory.
