Alice M. Boehm, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas, Tuesday, March 10, 2009, after a sudden illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, by Rev. Dr. T. Edwards Breed and Vicar Debbie Thompson. The family will greet friends one hour before the service on Saturday. Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009, at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Elkport.
Alice is survived by her sister-in-law, Isabelle Ray of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Carol Pohlman of Manchester, Marguerite Downs of Dundee, and Lloyd Clendenen of Dubuque, David Ray, Ellis Ray, Donald Ray, Harry Ray, Julie Gulliams, and Christina Werner all of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; one sister, Anna Ray Clendenen; and five brothers, Scott Ray, Frank Ray, Harry Ray, Norman Ray, Arthur Ray; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was born on June 9, 1921, in Iowa City to Orville Ray and Christena (Bolsinger) Ray. She was married to Walter Boehm on September 12, 1942. Walter died in July of 1966. Alice worked at Rockwell (Collins) as an assembler for 31 ½ years. She loved to travel and has spent her winters in Donna, Texas since 1982. She was a member of the Coffee Club, a Collins Group, and a 55 year member of the IBEW local # 1362. She was also a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Weslaco, Texas.
