Alice M. Augustin, 96, of Marion, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at home from complications of age. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, by the Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements are with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Augustin of Marion; a son, Chuck (JoAnn) Augustin of Las Vegas, Nevada; two granddaughters, Lisa (Alan) Moulder and Kerri Augustin (Troy Pople); and four great-grandchildren, Alesha, Jeremy, Amanda and Alyson.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Augustin; two sisters; and one brother.
Alice was born in Cedar Rapids in 1910, and lived there until she moved to Marion in 1987. She devoted her life to her family and her Catholic faith. Besides being a housewife and mother, she assisted her husband in running Augustin Plastering Company for many years prior to his retirement. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Cedar Rapids and most recently, St. Joseph?s Parish in Marion. She loved reading and spoiling her pet Schnauzers.
