Alfred "Al? Wall, 75, of Center Point, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by the Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, where a Rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his children, Sherry (Reinier) Zorge of Florence, Arizona, Sharron (Dave) Williams of Hackensack, Minnesota, Linda (Gene) Gebhards of Peoria, Illinois, Roger (Deb) Wall of Norwalk, Iowa, Marsha (Kevin) Rhinehart of Center Point, Jim (Rosemary) Trimble of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, Debra Trimble of Center Point and Chris (Leah) Wall of Omaha, Nebraska; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Leta) of Cedar Rapids, Edward Jr. (Helen) of Richardson, Texas, and Gerald (Judy) of Center Point; and two sisters, Marietta Schoonover of Norwalk, California and Jeanette (Bill) Drudy of Macungie, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ila; and two sisters, Connie Foote and Betty Wall.
Al was born May 31, 1929, the son of Ed & Mary (Bartlett) Wall, in Solon, Iowa. A 1947 Center Point graduate, he attended Loras College in Dubuque and married Ila Heathman on December 20, 1947. She died September 12, 1995. On July 3, 1998, he married Joyce Trimble in Center Point. A contractor, Al, with his brother Gerald, owned and operated Wall Brothers Plastering for over 50 years. He was a Charter Member of Rolling Acres Golf Course and a member of Sacred Heart Church for 56 years. Al was a dedicated son, loving husband and father. He was a gentle and kind grandfather, who lived his life to the fullest and unselfishly gave himself to others. He went home to be with his Father. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alfred (Moose) Wall Memorial Fund, in memory of Al.
