Aletha Fern Sturdivan
August 26, 1913 — November 26, 2005
Aletha Sturdivan, 92, of the West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, formerly of Hiawatha, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, in the care center of alzheimers. No service will be held. The family will greet friends Tuesday, November 29, 2005, from 4-7 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Robert) Langfitt of Hiawatha; three granddaughters, Kimberly Courtney of Leander, Texas, Lesa Keeton of Marion and Jolene Peck of Vinton; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; and son, Dennis Sturdivan, who died December 13, 2001.
Aletha was born August 26, 1913, in May, Idaho. On June 21, 1934, she was united in marriage to Paul "Bud? Sturdivan in Cedar Rapids. Paul died February 21, 1994. Aletha worked for the Family Service Agency and Garfield School. She was a member of Noelridge Baptist Church, the Marion Garden Club, and the Good Earth Garden Club. She loved African violets, gardening and camping.
