Aldonn Seibert, 82, of Manchester died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2009 by Pastor Jill Mack at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 22 at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.
Aldonn Seibert was born October 17, 1927 in Horton, IA, the son of Ernest and Laura (Brady) Seibert. Following graduation from the Greeley High School in 1946, he graduated from the University of Dubuque with a BS in 1952. On November 3, 1951, Aldonn was united in marriage to Pearl Stonskas in Dubuque, IA. Aldonn taught school in Sutherland, IA, Miles IA, and taught math for 30 years at the West Delaware Schools in Manchester.
Aldonn was an excellent carpenter, remodeling their home and doing all the wiring and plumbing with his brothers. He was a master woodworker, making 14 grandfather clocks, tables, cabinets, and many more items he shared with family and friends.
Aldonn is survived by his wife, Pearl Seibert of Manchester; two daughters, Susan (Duane) Noblett of Manhattan, KS and Sally (Mark) McCarville of Shoreview, MN; five grandchildren, Lisa (Barney) McDermott, Amy Noblett, Alex Noblett, Alison McCarville, Daniel McCarville; one sister, Betty Carter; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Seibert, Barb Seibert, Dorothy Seibert; a special niece, Sandra Taken; brothers-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Stonskas, Joseph (Caroline) Stonskas; and many nieces and nephews.
Aldonn was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Laura Seibert; brothers, Milan Seibert, Charles Seibert, Cliff Seibert, Leon Seibert; and a sister, Marian Wiest.
