Alberta Mae Mosher (Clark)

Alberta Mae Mosher, 93, of Manchester, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 09, 2008, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, after a brief illness.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Manchester United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Henry officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, and one hour before services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Masonville.
Alberta was born on November 9, 1914 in Warner, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Frank Era and Bertha Marie (Theel) Clark. She moved with her family to the United States in 1916. Alberta graduated from Dundee High School in 1932. On January 8, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leonard D. Mosher at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dundee. The couple farmed for many years near Masonville, Iowa, before moving to Manchester in 1977. In 2001, the couple moved to The Meadows. Leonard passed away in October 2002.
Alberta was a pianist at the former Masonville United Methodist Church for many years. She kept a daily diary for over 40 years. Alberta was active at The Meadows, enjoyed playing 500 card games with friends, was an active member of the Manchester United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Esther Circle and the United Methodist Women. She was devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Alberta is survived by her two sons and their wives, Donald & Vanita Mosher of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Gordon & Dixie Mosher of Huxley, Iowa; five grandchildren, Allan Mosher, Michael Mosher, Kenneth Mosher, Curtis Mosher, and Jennifer (Mosher) Albers; five great-grandchildren, Heather Mosher, Christopher Mosher, Sophia Mosher, Mark Mosher, and Samantha Mosher; two step-great-grandchildren, Trevor Vandelois and Zach Neuman; one great-great-grandchild, Brooke Vanderlois; and one sister, Ila Farr of Seal Beach, California.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard D. Mosher in 2002; her parents, Frank & Bertha Clark; one grandson, Jeffrey Mosher; twin great-granddaughters, Hailey & Hannah Mosher; three brothers, Carl Clark, Parnell Clark, and Glen Clark; and two sisters, Erma Vagts and Verna Clark.
