Al was born June 21, 1931, the son of James and Ruth (Wells) Walton, in Springville. He graduated from Martelle High School in 1950 and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. On February 3, 1987, he married Judith M. Knight at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Al was an appliance repairman for Iowa Electric for twenty-one years and then worked for Rockwell Graphics for twelve years, retiring in 1995. Later he spent seven years as a courier for Pony Express.

Al was a quiet, gentle man with a great love of family and grandchildren. He loved to fish and he and Judie loved to travel as well as ballroom dance nearly every Saturday night until his health failed. To his family he was the greatest of men and has left us with many wonderful memories. We have been blessed to call him husband, father and grandpa.

A special thank-you to Dr. Ghosh, Dr. D. Boatman, Dr. Richardson and the nurses from Hospice, Cindy, Denise, Donna and Shelly, for all their encouragement and wonderful care during Al?s illness.

Memorials can be directed to Judie Walton or be donated to the American Cancer Society or St. Luke?s Hospice, in Al?s memory.

Love lives on forever?..in the memories, in the stories, in the hearts of all whose lives have been touched by a very special person.
