Albert Elza Pfranger

Albert E. Pfranger, 70, formerly of Manchester, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at his home in Trinidad TX, following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home, Manchester, with Rev. Harlan Kaden officiating. Friends from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, and for an hour before services on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery in Strawberry Point.
Albert was born May 28, 1934, in Oelwein, the son of Ervin J. & Ethel L. (Cummins) Pfranger. He attended schools in the Maynard and Lamont areas. Albert served in the United States Army from August 1953 until August of 1956. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany during the Korean Conflict. On February 16, 1962 Albert was united in marriage to Darlene Hadac at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point. The couple later divorced.
Albert was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Manchester VFW Post #6637 and the Manchester American Legion Post #45. His hobbies included fishing, collecting beer steins and 1/16th scale farm tractors. He was a trucker for many years. Albert drove for Schanno, CRST and Hummer Transportation. Albert loved to travel and see the country.
Albert is survived by his mother, Ethel Pfranger of Trinidad, Texas; two sons, Robert J. (Lisa) Pfranger of Cedar Rapids and Roger A. (JaDon) Pfranger of Anamosa; two grandchildren, Haley & Kelsey Pfranger of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Delavan (Judy) Pfranger of Bracketville, Texas; and one sister, Rita Mae (Roy) Mills of Trinidad, Texas.
Albert was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Pfranger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous, Monticello.
