Albert “Chuck” Heller, 82, of Prairieburg, passed away following a long illness Thursday, March 26, 2015. Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prairieburg, Iowa, officiated by Father Dennis Cahill. Prayer Vigil: 3:30 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home in Central City, Iowa. Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Prairieburg, Iowa.
Albert “Chuck” Heller was born November 12, 1932, in DeKalb, Illinois, to his parents Emil and Bernice (Horn) Heller. Chuck served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Barbara Beranek at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prairieburg, Iowa, on June 27, 1961. Chuck retired from Rockwell after 29 years as an electrical engineer and then worked for ten years as a government inspector.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children Timothy (Monica) Heller of Houston, Texas; Randall (Lisa) Heller of Prairieburg, Iowa; three grandchildren, Ethan, Benjamin and Peter Heller; and his sister Joan Sadewasser of Guttenburg, Iowa. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Fred Maahs; two brothers, LaVerne “Snooks” Heller and Nickson Horn; and one brother-in-law, Donald Sadewasser; and one sister-in-law Coralie Heller.
