Albert R. Brown, 72, of 1605 11th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004, at the funeral home. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, John Brown, Kevin Peters, both of Summerville, South Carolina, David Peters of Tama, Iowa, Rocky Brown, Barb Dvorak, Rita Hefflefinger and Jimmy Brown, all of the Cedar Rapids area; grandson, Eric Brown; 4 grandchildren; and a brother, Jimmy Brown of Costa Mesa, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George.
Albert was born May 16, 1931, the son of John and Edna (Coleman) Brown in Bowling Green, Missouri. He served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corp. For 26 years, Albert worked for Blahnik Construction, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and the Eagles F.O.E. Albert will be truly missed by his family and friends.
