Alan Raymond Krueger
January 4, 1951 — July 26, 2023
Alan Raymond Krueger, 72, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated, and inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Center Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
Alan was born on January 4, 1951, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Marie (Bathke) Krueger. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On December 21, 1979, Alan was united in marriage to Sandra Columbia in Center Point. He worked for the Cedar Rapids School District for many years until retirement. Alan was an avid fisherman and a member of the NRA. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alan is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Sandy; daughter, Jenny (James) Barlow Petrick of Springville, Iowa; four grandchildren, A.J. Zuck, Corea Barlow, Ford Hodges, and Jesse Petrick; brother, Rick (Dawn) Krueger of Garrison, Iowa; and daughter-in-law, Erin Hodges Barlow of Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Tye Alan Krueger and Raymond Barlow; and one brother, Terry Dean Krueger.
