Agnes Ellen Triggs (Holmes)
August 15, 1914 — March 25, 2013
Agnes Ellen Triggs, 98, a resident of Heritage Acres, formerly of Garnett Place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, March 25, 2013. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska.
Survivors include her sister, Hazel Schenk of Pinehurst, North Carolina; stepsons, Stuart (Gloria) Triggs and Stan (Alice) Triggs; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Triggs; two brothers, Walter Holmes and Roy Holmes; and two sisters, Alma Hall and Edna Holmes.
Agnes was born August 15, 1914, the daughter of John and Mary (Ward) Holmes in Harvard, Nebraska. After high school in York, Nebraska, Agnes made her home in Omaha, Nebraska until the last four years of her life. She spent her career as an accountant.
An avid sportswoman, she enjoyed bowling and golf until well into her 90’s. Her laugh was contagious and she truly enjoyed life. She lived many of her years with grit and gumption and the final years with grace. She will be greatly missed.
