Agnes M. Amos, 90, formerly of Evergreen Estates 1 and a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Friday July 18, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Linda Bibb. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Manny) Wise of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Dave (Susan) Wise of Cedar Rapids and Randy (Dina) Wise of Augusta, Georgia; six great-grandchildren Jessica and Nicole Wise of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Wise of Ashburn, Virginia, Chris, Michelle and Matt Wise of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Wesley (Anna May) Petrick of Manchester, and Joe (Lenore) Petrick of Prairieburg; and two sisters, Rose (George) Mullis of Central City and Lillian (Rollie) Shover of Anamosa.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wesley, two brothers, Clarence Ruley and Tom Petrick and a sister, Josephine Smith.

She was born the daughter of John and Anna (Lawrence) Ruley on June 5, 1913, on a farm in rural Jones County. On November 29, 1929, in Central City, she was united in marriage to Wesley Amos. He died May 30, 1987. Agnes retired from FMC/Link-

Belt Speeder in 1977 after thirty-three years as a tool grinder/clerk. She was a member of Cedar Christian Church in Cedar Rapids, and union local UAW No. 299.

She and her husband of fifty-seven years enjoyed traveling and fishing in Wisconsin. In later years she enjoyed spending winters in her daughter and son-in-law?s home in Sun City, Arizona. Agnes was a quiet person who loved spending time with her family. We will all miss her.
