Adolph J. "Al? Procok, 94, of 2931 6th St SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a lengthy illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Will Jackson. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2003, at the funeral home. Private burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 72 years, Ann; a daughter, Dorothy Dukes of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Mark Dukes and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids, Craig Dukes and wife Kay of Mountain Home, North Carolina and Lori McClenathan and husband Lynn of Victor, Iowa; his great-grandchildren, Matthew Dukes and wife Jennifer, Sarah Dukes, Stacy Axmear and husband Steven, Monica McClenathan and Stephanie Dukes; a stepgreat-grandson, Bryan Duncan; his great-great grandchildren, Kaylei and Noah Dukes; a step-great-great granddaughter, Kassidy Duncan, and a brother, Bob Procok and wife Caryl.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Stanley, Benjamin, Leo, and Richard; a sister, Lillian; and a son-in-law, M. Lee Dukes.

Al was born on July 21, 1909, the son of Peter and Christine (Trachta) Procok, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On September 3, 1931, he married Ann Kulhavy in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945 on the Sea Bar Ship, stationed at the Radar Center in Honolulu where he was a cook and a butcher. Al worked for Wilson & Co., Hunter/Wathan Motors, Street Department for the City of Cedar Rapids and was a Special Police Officer. He was an avid bowler, played horseshoes, cards and loved to clean and wax cars. Adolph enjoyed Polka Music and a good steak with a bottle of O?Doul?s. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church where he was a door greeter. Adolph was very encouraging and supportive of his family and always willing to help those in need.
