Ada Marie Traver (Detlefsen)

Ada Marie Traver, 88, of Manchester, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following, a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Manchester by Rev. Harlan Kaden. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Monday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Ada was born May 24, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Carl G. and Amanda A. (Senne) Detlefsen. When Ada was three years old, her family moved to Cedar Rapids. She attended school in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1938. Ada worked as an inspector for fourteen years at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. On June 24, 1956 Ada married Robert Traver at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. They farmed south of Manchester and retired to town 1996. In December of 2002, Ada moved into the Good Neighbor Home. Robert died January 30, 2005.
Ada was a member of First Lutheran Church in Manchester where she volunteered with the church newsletter. She was a past-member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
Ada enjoyed playing cards with her neighbors in the Corner’s Card Club and spending time with her family.
Ada is survived by her son Michael “Mick” (Mary) Traver of Manchester; three grandchildren, Julie (Christopher) Kemp of Hopkinton, Chris Traver and Dan Traver (Missy Hite), both of Manchester; and three great-grandchildren, Bryant Meyer-Kemp, Jordyn Kemp and Chance Kemp all of Hopkinton; one sister, Lois (Richard) Marks of Glenwood, NM; and a sister-in-law, Bertha Traver of Manchester.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Carl G. and Amanda A. Detlefsen; her husband, Robert Traver; two sisters, Paula Rutz and Ruth Kammerer; two brothers, Paul and Walter Detlefsen; and a grandson-in-law, Nick Meyer.
