Ada Goldie Clark, 95, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday August 19, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Rev. John Caughron. Family will greet friends from 1-3p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial 1 p.m. Monday, at Springfield Cemetery, south of What Cheer, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay Hoffpauir Walton of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Clyde Hoffpauir and Joseph (Denise) Hoffpauir both of Cedar Rapids, Timothy (Tonya) Hoffpauir and Joanna (Tim) Sekavec both of Arkansas; eighteen great-grandchildren; and thirty-four great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Clark; two sons, Robert VanNevele and Ray VanNevele Jr.; one brother, Thomas; and five sisters, Millie, Maxine, Betty, Viola and Clair.
Ada was born on June 28, 1918, in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Maggie Midkiff. She worked as a cook at Mercy Medical Center. Ada was a member of Cedar Christian Church. She was a Gold Star Mother and was elected an officer in 1982. Ada was the most loving caring person who took care of so many in her time. She was a great mom and grandma. Ada enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Heritage Care Center and staff that took good care of Mom with a lot of love and care 24 hours a day.
