Abbie Ann Hansen Lawson Sparks

Abbie Ann Hansen Lawson Sparks, 45, of Central City, died peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2005, at her home of cancer. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Jonna Jensen. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: South Boulder Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Tom Sparks of Central City; four children, Jessica (Joshua) Smith, and Eric Lawson of Rock Island, Illinois, and Ashley and Audrey Sparks at home; one stepson, Michael Sparks of Iowa City; four grandchildren, Madison, Joseph, Queleb, and Jonathan.
Also surviving are her mother, Marilyn Hansen of Olin; two brothers, Mike (Tammy) Hansen of Olin and Scott (Brenda) Hansen of Central City; two sisters, Deb (Don) Etten of Anamosa and Sandy (Ken) Hansen-Heggebo of Olin; several nieces and nephews (we?ll miss you Aunt Abbie); several in-laws; and former husband, Danny Lawson of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dee Hansen in 1991 and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Abbie was born July 14, 1960, the youngest of five children born to Dee and Marilyn (Hay) Hansen. She received her schooling in Anamosa Community School and Olin Consolidated Schools. Abbie worked several years, first at Doerr Electric, then Rockwell Collins, and most recently at Quaker Oats, until she was too ill to work.
Abbie will be greatly missed by family and friends and also the family dog, Elvis who stayed close by her side during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Abbie?s memory.
