Steven M. Mayfield, 56, of 632 20th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Monday, September 4, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Services: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Ed Powers. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two children, Amanda Lynn Mayfield of Williamsburg, Virginia and Matthew Steven Mayfield of Cedar Rapids; his parents; and two brothers, Bruce (Dorothy) Mayfield of Kenmore, New York and Chris (Debra) Mayfield of Marion.
Steven was born May 9, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of George and Betty (Hansen) Mayfield.
Steve?s greatest pleasure in life was watching his children grow. He will be lovingly missed by his family.
