Steven C. Frantz, 48, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. The family will greet friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, and from 10 – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home conducted by Vicki Standley. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Steve, under “photos and videos or media,” starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Steve was born on June 9, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. He grew up in Palo and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1990. Steve was a long-time employee of PM Systems in Marion. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, San Antonio Spurs, and Chicago Cubs. Steve enjoyed playing guitar, playing ping pong, bowling, board games, 1970’s British rock bands, and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Shaun (Caitlon) Krug; grandchildren, Karlie and Leo; mother, Delores; sister, Amy; and friend, Tracy.
