Randy Stewart Kelley, 70, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the funeral home. Certified Celebrant, Amy Hart, will officiate.

Randy was born on February 2, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Dave and Eleanor (Stewart) Kelley. He was a graduate of Springville High School and went on to attend the University of Dubuque, before graduating with his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. On November 4, 1989, Randy was united in marriage to Jody Howig in Springville, Iowa. He was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church, where he also served as an elder. Randy worked for Ogden & Adams Lumber Company from 1976-1991, then owned and operated the Cedar Rapids Lumber Company from 1991-2020, before his retirement. As a business owner, he took care of his employees. Through his business, he helped people accomplish dreams of new homes, beautiful additions, and so much more. He had a caring and selfless spirit that gave endlessly. His humor lightened some of the darkest times and his strength helped him and his family through everything. Randy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Randy is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Jody Kelley; two daughters, Allyson Kendrick of Waukee, Iowa, and Meghan (Tom) Wright of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Matthew, and Jack; mother, Eleanor Kelley of West Des Moines; sister, Jean (Jim) Deeds of West Des Moines; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Kelley, and a brother, Jerry Kelley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Hospital of Cedar Rapids, Mercy Home Care, the University of Iowa Hospital, and Westridge Care Center of Cedar Rapids, for all the loving care they gave to Randy.
