Patrick Allan "Patty? Carpenter, 18, of Central City died Monday, January 1, 2007, in Central City from injuries, following an auto accident. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at United Church of Christ in Central City, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City. Friends may call from 4 to8 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Central City.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Lorra Carpenter of Central City; a sister, Jessica Carpenter of Central City; his maternal grandparents, Don and Avis Wilson of Coggon; and his paternal grandmother, Marlene Carpenter of Central City.
Also surviving are a nephew, Nathan Wilson Carpenter; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend Karen Krueger of Walford. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert "Pat? Carpenter.
Patty was born the son of Robert and Lorra (Wilson) Carpenter on May 12, 1988, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Central City High School in 2006, where he was very active in wrestling, football, baseball and track, receiving Varsity letters in all. Patty also attended Kirkwood Community College.
Patty was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and participated in FFA, was an honorary member of the Son?s of the AmVets Squadron #37 of Central City and was proud to be a Waubeekan.
He was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in Patty?s memory.
