Michael W. Kennedy, 50, of 93 22nd Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, December 9, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center from complications of cancer. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gary Dobbins. The family will greet friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his parents; his daughters, Nikki Kennedy and Samantha Kennedy both of Cedar Rapids; and step daughter, Hannah Vajgert of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are his brother, Jerry (Mindy) Kennedy of Parksville, Missouri; sister, Linda (Doug) McMurrin of Arlington, Texas; nieces and nephew, Abigail and Jessica Kennedy and Hayden McMurrin; hairy grandson, Brisbon; and best friends, Jerry Kilpatrick, Mike Ruzicka, Paul Viktora, Dan Daley and the rest of the garage crew.
Michael was born January 21, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Herbert W. Kennedy and Marilyn C. (Schutzman) Kennedy of Cedar Rapids. He was a welder for 30 years for Evergreen, formerly Cherry Burrell.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his girls and the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, and also being with his friends in the garage.
A memorial fund has been established in Michael?s memory.
