Mary Eileen Stanley, 55, of Marion, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, in Hollywood, California, from complications of a stroke. Memorial Service: 12 noon Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Wm Stanley of Marion; two step-daughters; two brothers, Marc Ferreter of Cedar Rapids and Bill (Mary) Ferreter of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Margaret Ferreter of Cedar Rapids and Lois (Rod) Ocenosak of Marion; and twenty-nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob.

Mary was born November 12, 1952, the daughter of Edward and Eileen (Miller) Ferreter in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Central City High School in 1970 and from Mt. Mercy College in 1974. On March 17, 1991, she married Wm Stanley in Washington D.C. Mary was an educator and home school tutor.

Mary was an ordained minister of Scientology. She was a member of the International Association of Scientologists (IAS), the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, and the Association of Better Living through Education (A.B.L.E.).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mary’s memory.
