Margaret M. Millard, 89, formerly of Central City, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at United Parish Church in Coggon, by Pastor Jennifer Filter. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, rural Coggon.
Survivors include her son, Gary Millard of Coggon; a sister, Estelle Walton of Turlock, CA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Florence Vernon and Paul Black.
Margaret Black was born November 15, 1921, near Monticello.. On September 22, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lewis G. Millard in rural Monticello. He died October 11, 1999. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper at the FSA Office in Marion.
