Marcia Ward, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Chris Ward and Keri (David Erb) Ward both from Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Macey Stout, Cody Grapes, Cory Grapes and Mishayla Ward; siblings, Robert (Nancy) Sissel of Sioux City, Iowa and Kathy McGarry of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Jason, Matt, Austin, and Lauren Sissel; and her close neighbors, Lynn and Cheryl Johnson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcia was born on January 8, 1951, in Des Moines, daughter of Dale and Mary (Griffin) Sissel. She married William “Bill” Ward, Jr. and they later divorced. Marcia worked at Little Drug Company in Cedar Rapids for six years. She enjoyed crafting, making wedding cakes and candy. Marcia loved shopping and spending time with her granddaughter, Mishayla.
