Linda Kay Huber, 80, of Marion Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, where a visitation will begin one hour prior to the Mass. Reverend Dennis Juhl will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Linda was born on September 14, 1942, in Iowa, the youngest of seven children to Lloyd and Edna Marie (Burgin) Fenton. She was a graduate of Coggon High School in Coggon, Iowa. On January 28, 1961, Linda was united in marriage to Paul James Huber in Coggon. She had worked in accounting and clerical at the former Longview Fiber Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Linda then went on to work for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Palo, Iowa, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Linda was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. She enjoyed reading, traveling, growing flowers, and solving crossword puzzles. Linda was fortunate to have won and thoroughly enjoyed a vacation to Hawaii, it was a very memorable experience. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great-granddaughters. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Christine (Scott) Kullander of Marion; son, John Huber of Marion; two grandsons, Andrew (Kady) Hall of Iowa City, Iowa, and Thomas Kullander of Marion; two great-granddaughters, Vayda Kay Hall and Pearl Patricia Hall; one brother, Don Fenton of Arvada, Colorado; and a host of many extended family members including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Huber in 2019; three brothers, Dwayne, Dwight, and Dean Fenton; and two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Patti Brogan.
Memorials in Linda’s memory may be directed to either the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy at 315 18th Avenue in Hiawatha, Iowa, 52233; or to St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1790 14th Street in Marion, Iowa, 52302.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, especially Casey, Linda, Darcie, Laura, Lorraine, Beth and Amy, for the love, support, and care they gave to Linda during her stay.
