Leverne F. Fullmer, 88, of 1345 Sierra Drive N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: 12 noon, Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Lyle Fullmer of Temple, Texas and Debra Fullmer of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Logan Fullmer, Morgan (Sara) Fullmer and Melissa Fullmer all of Temple, Texas; step children, Barry (Suzy) Schmitz of Gilbert, Arizona, Bryan Schmitz of Cedar Rapids and Darrin (Dana) Schmitz of Hiawatha; step grandchildren, Janelle Schmitz, Jake Schmitz, Alyssa Schmitz and Madison Schmitz; sister, Leonore Sleeuwenhoek of Victor, Iowa; and nephew, Lynn (Kim) Sleeuwenhoek and their children, Derek and Brittany.
Born November 14, 1921, in Victor, Iowa, Leverne was the son of Frank and Elsie (Carl) Fullmer. On May 27, 1985, he was united in marriage to Janet Ahrens in Cedar Rapids. Leverne engaged in farming and worked for Amana Refrigeration, retiring in 1978 after 30 years.
Leverne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and the AFL-CIO.
