Kenneth "Ken" W. Murdoch

Kenneth “Ken” W. Murdoch, 68, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Marion, Iowa, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Iowa City, surrounded by family and friends. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately after services at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with a luncheon to follow.
Ken was born September 13, 1955, at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to George and Marlyce (Anderson) Murdoch. He attended Marion High School and later received a cosmetology degree. Ken worked as a stylist in California and then for many years in the Iowa City area. He was a very artistic and creative soul. He had a big soft spot for animals and had several that he loved and cared for over the years.
Survivors include his mother, Marlyce Murdoch of Marion; brother, John (Kim) Murdoch of Marion; sister, Leigh (Stan) Murdoch-Poe of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephew, Megan (Matt Ian) Enneking of Santa Monica, California, Jaime (Daniel) Steward of Marion, Hailey Murdoch of Marion, and Kyle Enneking of Marion; great-nieces and nephews, Reagan, Maddyn, Campbell, Makinley, Alivia, George and Marlo; and many close friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, George F. Murdoch; nephew, Brett Murdoch; former sister-in-law, Kathy Murdoch; grandparents, Kenneth and Faye Murdoch and Leonard and Marie Anderson; uncle and aunt, Leon and Rose Anderson; and cousin, Ron Anderson.
