A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private family committal service will take place at a later date.
Harold was born on July 17, 1958, in Wyoming, Iowa, the son of Billy R. and Delta (Breeden) Scott. After high school, he attended Scott Community College and earned his degree in body shop repair. In 1991, Harold was united in marriage to Cheryl L. Becker in Fairfax. He was a Body Shop Manager at Cedar Rapids Truck Center, prior to going to Vspec, where he was a Specialty Claims Manager.
Harold’s greatest hobby was spending time with his children and grandchildren, including being Troy’s Crew Chief and Jena’s ‘Go-to-Guy’. He always motivated and encouraged Troy and Owen to keep racing. Harold enjoyed taking care of his family in countless ways from fixing and painting cars, to repairing anything broken. No request was too big or too small. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and loving grandfather. Harold will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Scott of Fairfax; children, Troy Scott (fiancée, Danica Davidson) of Ely, Iowa, Jena (Blake) Fuessley of Cedar Rapids, and Amy (Kasey) Kadolph of Robins; and grandchildren, Owen and Nash Scott, Londyn Fuessley, and Tyler and Taylor Kadolph.
A memorial fund has been established by the family to honor Harold’s life with a park bench. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
