Daniel Leland Harris, 54, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at his home in Springville. Family will greet friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery in Springville. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Daniel was born on June 16, 1966, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Robert Leland and Barbara Jean (Lane) Harris. He graduated from Metro High School. Daniel drove cab for Century Taxi, worked at Famous Dill Burger, Jacks Store, and most recently detailed cars for DJ Auto. He loved old collectable cars. He enjoyed small town celebrations and computers, Daniel was a computer whiz.
Daniel is survived by his father, Robert Harris of Norway, Iowa; sister, Debra (Dick) Ingvall of Vinton, Iowa; two sons, Dan Buchanan of Springville and Cole Harris of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Denver Harris, Faith Kerschieter, Aiyla Harris, and Savanna Harris all of Cedar Rapids; aunt, Roberta Harris; and two uncles, James Harris of Cedar Rapids and Ronald Harris of Spirit Lake, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Harris; and two daughters, Alexis Jean Harris and Kassidy Lynn Harris.
