Carolyn Ruth Berry, 79, of Key Colony Beach, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Carolyn was born April 21, 1938, in Traer, Iowa, the daughter of Bruce and Pearl (Jacobson) Butts. On August 20, 1955, Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Earl Berry in Vinton, Iowa. She was a homemaker, raising three daughters. She was a member of the Girls Scouts of America and the Red Hat Society.
Carolyn was known for her thoughtfulness and many birthday and holiday cards. She enjoyed traveling in her big RV, fishing in Minnesota and the Florida Keys, cooking, especially her banana nut bread and her homemade noodles, gardening, playing chickenfoot and Scrabble, watching Wheel of Fortune, creating floral arrangements, and having get-togethers. Her family and friends will greatly miss her for she was loved by many.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bob Berry; daughters, Becky Eden of Marion, Bonnye Miller of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Brenda (Rick) Keel of Cocoa Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Lepic and children Tiffany Primmer, Thomas, Landon and Austin Lepic, Michael Eden, Daniel (Shannon) Myers and children, Reef, Coen, Haven, and Bair, Lindsye Lynch and children, Maddox and Mason, Britnye (Craig) Bucholz and children, Zander, Alex, and Henley, Andrew (Katie) Keel and daughter, Aria, Austin (Laura) Keel and Alexander; siblings, David (Sheila) Butts, Joann (Jim) Goodell, and Diana Weekley; and Bailey, her “puppy.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Pearl Butts and brother, Donald Butts.
