Bernard Heintz, 92, of Springville, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Springville. A visitation will take place one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial: Springville Cemetery, Springville. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Bernard is survived by his two children, Allen and Susan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Nicholas, Trisha, and Alexandria; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bernard is preceded in his death by his wife Darlene; a son, Gary; his mother and father; sibling Bernice Smith and Harold Heintz.
Bernard Heintz was born March 10, 1925 in Tomah, WI, the son of Joseph and Mildred (Honell) Heintz. Bernard was united in marriage to Mabel “Darlene” on August 2, 1952. Bernard was a long time farmer in the Springville area and worked for the City of Cedar Rapids until he retired. Bernard was a member of the St. Isidore Catholic Church. In his earlier years Bernard was an active leader for the 4-H community. Bernard loved and cared for his wife and family.
